Ladies Georgian Dressing, Sewing Table, late 1800's

The height of simplicity and elegance, this classic mahogany table banded with shimmering satinwood conceals its riches under 2 flip lids. Inside is a mirror on an adjustable easel, pincushion, tiny compartments and boxes with satinwood covers. The drawer below has handcut dovetails and more compartments and covers.

There are various mars, shrinkage cracks, warps and repairs. The original finish has been polished to a silken sheen. Finished on all sides, this is truly a treasure.

The design of this antique furniture is Georgian from the mid 1700's, but this piece appears to date from the late 1800's. Size is 24" wide, 20" deep and 34 1/2" tall, when the tray lids are flipped open, the width is 4.'
