Victorian 1855 Child Portrait, Original Chalk Pastel — $775.00

   This lovely original Victorian portrait of a child in chalk, charcoal or pastel on thick paper dates from about 1855. The solid walnut oval frame with gold liner has the original finish in great condition. The rough sawn backing is also original. The child has a serious, direct gaze and rosy cheeks, and wears the ruffled clothing of the day. We see no damage or repairs to the antique pastel or frame, except for minor mars and a shrinkage separation at one joint on the side of the frame.
