This historic set of 5 walnut chairs have recent rush seats and date from the early 1700's. Hand carved, there is a signature "AC" on the back of one, they are pegged at the joints and are all solid and very usable.
There have been numerous repairs and restorations of various ages on these chairs - it would suspicious if there weren't. Charming wear and intricate restorations give wonderful character to this authentic antique furniture, and the warm deep brown finish has beautiful patina.
Very skilled craftsmen have worked on these chairs over the centuries, and the recent newly woven natural rush seats show outstanding workmanship also.
As they are truly individually made, size varies, but 4 of the chairs are about 18" wide, 21" deep, and 35" tall with 16" high seats, and the fifth chair is 18" wide, 21" deep, and 37" tall with an 18" high seat. B-C1132 |
