An extraordinary walnut sideboard or wine cabinet has remarkably detailed carving and wrought iron locks. The hardware has hand engraving, recalling suits of armor.
Intricate workmanship is as exceptional as would be expected of Swiss master craftsmen. The finish is mostly original from the 1870's, although the elaborate working locks and keys recall centuries earlier.
Warm patina accentuates the spiral columns and deep moldings. There are minor shrinkage separations on this historic antique - see photos. Drawers have hand-cut dovetails, dimensions of this sophisticated furniture are 4'1" wide, 23" deep and 52" tall. J-S1926 |
