Black Forest Victorian Marquetry Game Table

A wonderful authentic Black Forest inlaid marquetry game table has a tiny drawer for game pieces. This hand-made furniture was crafted during long winters in the Black Forest alpine area in southwest Germany and northern Switzerland.
Crafted in the 1880's of walnut, this antique is inlaid with thousands of tiny pieces of birch, burl and other hardwoods. The pedestal is sturdy, the drawer is hand dovetailed. Beautiful golden patina enhances the remarkable marquetry.
Signed "Karmania" underneath, there is also an old shipping tag from NYC to Pittsburgh. Measurements are 27 1/2" diameter and almost 30" tall.
