An authentic American Empire sofa was hand-carved of solid mahogany in the 1830's. There are flame grain panels on the sturdy and solid frame, and masterful artistry in the carved paw feet and acanthus leaf motifs.
The polished finish is very fine, there are mars on the top scroll toward the right side, see photos. Bolsters and the cushion are removable, the fabric is in very good condition.
As comfortable as these antiques get, measurements of this historic furniture are 6'10" long, 25" deep, 34" tall and the seat is 19" high. K-S1944 |
