Swiss Folk Carved Antique Cherry Cupboard

Hand-carved in the Swiss Alps area in the mid 1800's, this charming cherry cupboard has inlaid religious symbols.

Entirely hand-planed boards are secured with hand-cut dovetails and wooden pegs. This country cabinet has carved galleries, doors and drawers. Inset with contrasting wooden banding, the finish is very good with wonderful warm patina.

There is lots of picturesque character on this historic antique furniture - see photos of stains and shrinkage separations. Back panels are rough hewn, and overall size of this Alpine treasure is 4'9" wide, 17" deep and 6'5" tall.
