A pair of "bombe" or convex shaped antique chests, night stands or bedside tables are magnificent quarter-matched walnut burl with rosewood and satinwood inlaid banding.
Shaped marble tops are beautiful, one has an old and solid repair. The lustrous finish is excellent with wonderful deep rich patina on this true right and left pair. Sometimes called "oyster" burl, there are minor mars and chips at the edges.
Dating from about 1900, bronze pulls are original, drawers have hand-cut dovetails and original bronze pulls. Robust and very usable furniture, these graceful chests would be beautiful in just about any room.
Dimensions are 23" wide, 15" deep and 27" tall.
