A late Victorian Eastlake period marble top sideboard or buffet is solid walnut with burl panels. There is a large mirror with gallery, and charming incised "spoon" or chip carving is characteristic of the era.
Very well proportioned American furniture from the 1870's, the warm finish is superb. Heavy brasses are original and the "Tennessee Red" marble top is in very good condition, with a chip on the backside that is invisible from the front. Drawers have round or "pin-and-cove" dovetailed joints. The plate glass mirror is also excellent on the removable gallery.
Measurements of this picturesque antique are 5' wide, 2' deep, 6'2" tall and the marble top is 38" high.
