A very fine New England secretary desk was hand crafted about 1820 of solid cherry and mahogany. Drawers are hand dovetailed and fronts are rimmed. The drop front rests on pull out supports, there is an old repair near a hinge, some mars and patina to show it's age, see photos.
Embossed brasses are appropriate but later. The back side is rough sawn, attached with square nails. This historic desk is at stand up or stool height, and has an excellent gleaming finish.
Measurements are 43" wide, 19" deep when closed, 32" when opened, 47" tall with a writing surface 35" from the floor.
