This Georgian Chippendale design secretary desk and bookcase from the 1940's has refined lines and exceptional workmanship.
The top has a well proportioned pediment and finial. Four feet are all carved ball and claw design, drawer fronts have deep serpentine curves. Supports automatically extend under the drop front when opened, inside are "secret" drawers and cubicles.
The gleaming finish on mahogany is excellent, locks work, and lower drawers are dovetailed.
American antique furniture, the upper bookcase section has adjustable shelves. Size is 34" wide, 18" deep, 6' 9" tall and the writing surface is 30" high.
