Masterfully hand carved of solid oak about 1880, this cabinet, server, backbar or sideboard has lions, quail, and deer in artistic high relief.
Crafted for a palatial hunting estate in Normandy, France, game, fruit and a wine or brandy barrel are all rendered in stunning detail. There is a sheaf of wheat with a woman's hat because winnowing the grain from the chaff was traditionally done by females.
The rich brown finish is excellent, brass hardware is original. This imposing heirloom furniture disassembles for moving. Drawers are hand dovetailed, columns are fluted.
Measurements of this grand antique are 56" wide, 21" deep, 8' 6" tall and the serving area is 39" high.
