A magnificent deeply hand carved 1890's dining table has a pedestal with fluted columns. This large American made oval table has 6 original leaves with matching carved edges. High relief carving in solid quarter sawn oak shows outstanding artistry.
The rich glowing finish is excellent with warm antique patina on a solid and rugged pedestal, which separates when extended. A center leg is concealed inside, it gives extra support when the table top and base are unlocked and stretched open.
The leaves have warps from age, so the table top is not perfectly flat when extended, see photos. If new leaves were made, they could be perfectly flat, but the hand carved edges would be very difficult to reproduce, so we have left the originals as they are - this is the authentic antique "character."
Measurements of this historic furniture are 54" wide, 29 1/2" tall, legroom is 26" tall, length when closed is 59," and with all 6 leaves in place, length is 12 1/2' total.
The matching chairs in photos are priced and sold separately, call or email for availability.
