Said to have been made for a ship, an 1880's pine vanity cabinet has a marble top and hand painted china sink. The sink tips to empty, the porcelain vessel below could be connected to a drain by a plumber. There are holes for faucets in the backsplash, see photos.
The finish is in very good condition on the pine base, there are two small hand dovetailed drawers. Richly gained marble has been polished, there are several repairs, see photos.
Hand painted with birds and blossoms, the sink bowl has a handle shaped into the rim, and tilts to empty. This hand crafted antique furniture was hand made in France, reportedly for a bath in a first class stateroom.
Measurements are 39 1/2" wide, 23" deep, 46 1/2" tall and the top is 32" high.
