Magnificently hand carved about 1900 of solid oak, this Renaissance design "court cupboard' cabinet was probably part of a bride's dowry.
Richly detailed with the family crest, "linen fold" panels and massive urn shaped columns, the original finish is extremely fine and has been polished. Wrought iron hardware and working locks are original.
There has been a modification to the center lower doors, possibly to store taller bottles or a TV. The left foot has a shrinkage separation, see photos. Otherwise, this imposing castle furniture from France is all original and remarkably well preserved.
This historic antique is two separate pieces for handling. Measurements are 101" long, 21" deep, 68" tall and the base is 43 1/2" tall.
