Hand-carved of walnut about 1930, this grand table was made to serve appetizers in a salon before the main dining room, it would make a lovely hall or center table.
This antique furniture was crafted for the ante-room before the main dining room of a palazzo, the scene for reception and "antipasto" or appetizers before the main late evening dinner in the large dining room.
The original warm brown finish is excellent with warm patina, the top has been revarnished. Stunning artistry is shown in the Rococco shell crests and deeply carved trestle base.
The distinctive design and very fine master craftsmanship originate around wealthy Milan in northern Italy, formerly the Grand Duchy of Piedmont.
There are small shrinkage separations to the beautifully matched top, see photos.
This heroic antique furniture measures 60" long, 34" wide and 32" tall, higher than a normal dining table to use as a buffet.
Matching pieces in photos are priced separately, call or email for availability.
