The old finish is beautiful with warm antique patina and lots of antique character - burns, stains, wear and losses.
Furniture from Missouri, the back is rough sawn and attached with square nails. There are shrinkage separations from age, the drawers are hand dovetailed with chamfered bottoms, doors are pegged.
This charming cupboard was used to store jelly and jam from the fall harvest that needed to last until the next fall. To keep hungry children out, there was always a lock, this one has a replacement.
