Hand carved about 1900, an authentic Country French armoire has original shaped and beveled mirrors in both doors. At the base is a "secret" drawer.
The original finish is very well preserved, it has glowing antique patina. Waxed and polished, it needs only an occasional wipe with a dry cloth to maintain its rich luster.
The highly detailed shell crest and arched top are especially wonderful. Expertly crafted in France, this furniture can be disassembled for moving. Inside, shelves adjust on wooden supports.
Mirrors have a little "smoke" to show their age. The key is a handle only, the lock does not work. There is a small warp to one door, see photos. Drawers and case have hand cut dovetail joints, side panels are shaped and raised.
Dimensions are 52" wide, 22" deep, 8' 4" tall and interior depth is 16."
Related pieces in photos are priced and sold separately.
