Renaissance Carved 1890 Oak Desk with Griffins, Pull Out Leather Top

Hand carved in France of solid oak about 1890, this imposing desk has high relief sculptures of griffins and spiral columns.
The finish is in excellent condition. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. The writing area pulls forward and has a natural saddle leather insert.
Sometimes called "Black Forest" style, this is elegant country house antique furniture.
Measurements are 51" wide, 27" deep, 47" tall, the desk top is 31 1/2" high and the kneehole is 21" wide and 24" high.
