Crafted of solid hard maple about 1900 as a workbench, this well worn antique makes a fascinating wine and appetizer table or kitchen island.
The base has exposed mortise and tenon joints and traces of old paint. There is an iron clamping vise. The top tilts up by turning the crank wheel, this workbench was once adapted to hold an electric saw, and the blade slot is in the center, see photos.
The finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of character - dings and mars from long use.
American made furniture, size is 37" long, 29" wide including the vise and 30" tall if the top is not raised.
