This hand crafted jelly cupboard from about 1870 is solid walnut with maple door panels and sides. We were told that it came from Pennsylvania.
Square nails, chamfered panels and hand cut dovetail joinery show expert country workmanship. The finish is in excellent condition with a few mars at the edges and at the bottom for antique character.
Shelves are strong because this furniture was intended to store home made jams and jellies from the fall harvest to last an entire year until the next harvest. Walnut knobs are original.
Size of this clean lined cabinet is 43" wide, 16" deep and 51" tall including the gallery.
