Oak 1890's Antique 8 Drawer Map Chest, Document or Drawing File Cabinet

Eight wide drawers were used for maps, charts or architectural drawings on this 1890's chest or file cabinet. Crafted of solid oak with butternut drawer fronts, the deep finish is in excellent condition with a few mars at the edges for antique character.

There have been various repairs over the years on this American made office furniture, including new drawer bottoms.

Drawers have original pulls, interior size is 47" wide and 28" deep, seven drawers are 3" high, the bottom one is 6" high. Overall size is 54" wide, 31 1/2" deep and 41 1 /2" tall.
