Named after its inventor, Col. Davenport, and also popular on board ships because of their compact but functional design, this 1880 era desk from England is solid mahogany with a charmingly worn ebony finish.
Brass hardware and gallery are original, drawers have exquisite tiny hand cut dovetail joints. Under the top bookshelf is a compartment for papers and two original inkwells with brass caps. Under the leather writing surface is more storage space and tiny drawers.
Dimensions of this historic antique desk are 22" wide, 21" deep, 30" tall and the top slopes up from 29 1/2" at the front.
