Hand crafted about 1890 in England as a washstand for a bowl and pitcher, this marble top chest could be repurposed as a bar or server.
Hand carved of walnut with matched burl drawer fronts, the original finish is remarkably well preserved. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glowing antique patina.
Brasses are original on drawers with hand cut dovetail joints. The richly grained marble top and backsplash have been polished and sealed to resist stains, there is a chip on the right back edges, see photos. A swivel mirror with hand carved frame has original beveled plate glass.
Size is 42 1/2" wide, 21" deep, 62" tall and the base is 32 1/2" tall.
