Said to be from Pennsylvania, this late Sheraton dropleaf lamp table from around 1840 is often called a "Pembroke" table.
Solid walnut and cherry, the top is cut from a single wide plank. The top has been revarnished for durability, the base has its original finish with a little crackling or crazing for antique character.
In the top are several hand fitted carved square wooden plugs. Two drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, chamfered bottoms and wood knobs attached with wooden dowels instead of screws. Well proportioned legs have original brass wheels on this American made furniture.
Measurements with the dropleaves down are 19" square and 29" tall, with both leaves raised, width is 38 1/2" wide overall.
