This Georgian style dining table has two "birdcage" pedestals and is signed by noted Dutch designer, "Johan Tapp."
Mahogany with a superb deep satiny finish, this 1930's table shows superior American craftsmanship. Tapp (1888-1939) designed furniture for many makers around the world.
There are three 24" wide leaves, feet and wheels are patinated cast brass.
This marvelous furniture was sold by the Marshall Field Antique Department in Chicago for $18,000 about 35 years ago.
Size is 45" wide, 29 1/2" tall, legroom is 27 1/2" underneath, length closed is 6,' with all three leaves in place, length is 12' overall.
