Signed "A. B. Dick, Chicago," this 48 drawer patented file cabinet from about 1900 is solid oak. The top and rebuilt base have been revarnished for durability, the rest of the finish is original with a few mars and wear for antique character.
Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its patina. Drawers have three sides, they pull out and hang on a pivot, and have a brass peg system to hold dividers, a number are still included.
Brass label holders and pulls are original, interior size is 11" wide, 12" deep and 3" tall. There is a faint mustiness inside this American made office furniture.
Overall dimensions are 55 1/2" wide, 16" deep and 58" tall.
