A sweet chest or commode from the late Victorian or Eastlake period has a marble top and many uses - bedside, bath or lamp table.
Crafted of solid walnut with burl panels about 1885, the finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Engraved rosy brasses are original, drawers have dovetailed joints. The charcoal marble has tiny fossils and has been polished and sealed to resist stains.
Dimensions are 30" wide, 16" deep and 30 1/2" tall.
