A rugged carpenter's workbench is an interesting kitchen island or wine and cheese tasting table.
Signed "Christensen of Chicago" from the 1920's, this solid hard maple furniture has loads of mars and wear for antique character, preserved by an excellent satiny finish with glowing patina.
The working cast iron clamp is signed as shown in photos. There is a "well" on the top to keep parts and tools from rolling away, underneath is a dovetailed drawer.
Size of this American made bench is 42" long, 22" deep or 27" including the iron vise and 32" tall.
