An exquisite flip and swivel game table has an inlaid marquetry chess board on top plus a sewing drawer and needlework hopper.
Hand made in England around 1870 of genuine rosewood, the satiny finish is in excellent condition with warm antique patina. Marquetry includes curly maple, ebony and satinwood.
The locking sewing drawer and small drawers for game pieces have solid mahogany sides with tiny hand cut dovetail joinery. A hopper below is lined with wallpaper, porcelain wheels are original.
When the top is turned and swiveled, it is almost square for card games.
This splendid combination furniture measures 30" long, 18" deep and 29" tall when closed, open size is 30" x 34 1/2."
