Hand painted with raised enamel in the "Chinoiserie" manner in the 1950's, this breakfront china cabinet or bookcase is actually American made. Artistically painted in muted tones against a black lacquer background, the original finish has touchups and was protected with a new coat of satin varnish.
Drawers have dovetailed joints on this sophisticated vintage furniture. We can find no maker's signature on this Chinese design piece. Two doors are warped from age, see photos, so the center doors with sunburst grills do not lock, the other locks work. shelves are adjustable. Two separate pieces for easier moving, the front is gracefully bowed.
