Carved of mahogany around 1830, this Empire period console table opens to form a game table.
Quintessential "Greek Revival" design incorporates classical hand carved features. The finish is in excellent condition, enhancing the solid mahogany "ribbon grain" flip and swivel top.
There are minor stains and mars at the edges, see photos. Under the lid is a "secret" compartment. Said to be from Boston, this antique American made furniture has well proportioned lines. This historic table is also beautiful opened against a wall.
Measurements in the console or closed position are 35" wide, 18" deep and 29 1/2" tall, open to game position, size is 35" x 36" and 28 1/2" tall.
