A grand secretary desk with bookcase top is from the Victorian period about 1860. Solid walnut with flame burl grain panels, the finish is in very fine condition.
American made antique furniture, oval framed doors have old wavy glass. Shelves adjust on wooden supports. Inside the drop front is a saddle leather writing surface and cubicles for papers. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, locks and keys work. The crest is removable from the crown, see photos.
Dimensions are 50" wide, 25" deep and 8' 5" tall. The writing surface opens to a total depth of 39" and is 30" tall.
