A graceful hand carved fireplace mantel and surround is architectural salvage from an 1890's house. Solid birch with exquisite detailing, the cherry finish is in excellent condition.
There are minor mars and shrinkage separations from age for antique character. American made, there is a "linenfold" panel. Hand painted ceramic tiles are probably original, and have been removed from the original masonry and glued to a separate panel as shown.
Measurements are 49" wide, 13" deep and 70" tall. The opening in the wood is 36" square, the opening in the tiled panel is 24" square.
