A magnificent solid oak library bookcase from about 1915 was richly carved with Biblical scenes, tiny figures are holding up the crown and lion paw feet.
Panels have artistic perspective with familiar stories including Jonah and the Whale, The Flood, and Jesus with Roman Soldiers.
Doors have working locks. The original finish is extremely well preserved and has been waxed and polished so that an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is all that is needed to maintain its luster. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Three separate banks of shelves include center shelves that adjust on wooden supports. Two middle doors have original iron grill work and wavy glass. This antique furniture from Holland disassembles for easier moving.
Dimensions are 8' 7" wide at the crown, 24" deep and 6' 7" tall.
