A solid brass Russian Samovar or hot water kettle for tea bears Czarist era engraved seals and the date, "1870."
There is a tray with this antique, which has a tin lining and holds water. Hot coals were put into the center chimney to boil water, a traditional sign of hospitality in every Russian novel.
The Samovar measures 14" wide, 14" deep and 15" tall. The tray is 12" wide, 17" long and 3/4" deep.
