A spectacular Classical or Empire French mantel clock from about 1825 is brilliant gilt bronze with a hand painted porcelain dial, signed "L. Fleschelle a Paris."
Professionally cleaned, regulated and oiled, the brass movement runs accurately for a week on a winding. A silvery toned bell sounds the half hour and counts the hour. The original lyre pendulum has an adjustment knob.
There are minor dings for antique character on this gorgeous timepiece, plus a hairline crack in the porcelain dial ring, see photos. Shaped columns have traditional "entasis" proportions. Knurled feet turn to level this palatial clock.
Measurements are 10 1/2" wide, 6 1/2" deep and 21" tall.
