Hand made in England about 1890, this partner's writing desk or library table has drawers on both sides.
Mahogany wood has an excellent finish with warm antique patina, preserving just enough mars for a little character. Well proportioned legs have slight warps from age, see photos. Four drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and solid cast brass knobs. The gold tooled leather top has few dings as well on this historic library furniture. Sold in 1988 for $5320 by Antiquarian Traders of Los Angeles, the receipt is included. Size is 53 1/2" wide, 45" deep, 29 1/2" tall and legroom is 23 1/2" underneath.
