This style of floor lamp from about 1915 was called a "bridge" lamp, it was made to set alongside a chair for reading. The brass and filigree cast iron is heavy weight for stability, the original deep patinated finish is in very fine condition.
There is a slag stained glass ball in the spiral column. A standard base swivel socket has been rewired on this American made antique light. The hand stitched embossed leather and parchment shade has several restorations, see photos. Size is 10 1/2" diameter and 5' tall.
