This charming gold pocket watch is just over 1 1/2" in diameter and is signed Elgin. There are hairline cracks on the dial that we only saw in the close up photos, one is a demicircle by the 11 on the top, and the other is from the second hand to the center. The case is richly hand engraved with a bird and initials HM (?) on the front. On the backside is lovely small scene with a bird. The 14 K gold case is a beautiful rosy gold and the inside is signed "warranted 14KT USFA FWC Company 50660 (?) The inner back cover is inscribed "14K 50660." The jeweled watch movement itself is engraved "Elgin Watch Company 4383065 safety pinion". The case is in good condition with a few dings and a wrinkle on the inside, perhaps from the very deep engraving - see photos.
This jeweled watch has been cleaned and regulated and is a good runner, it opens easily with a press to the stem, and the time is set with a lever.
