A magnificent French library "bureau plat" or writing desk from the early 1900's is genuine tulipwood with inlaid walnut banding, gracefully curved all around in the Louis XIV manner.
The glowing finish is excellent with warm patina. Cast bronze mounts and pulls are original on this palatial furniture. The gold tooled leather has just enough mars for a little antique character. Drawers have solid oak sides with hand cut dovetail joints. On both ends are pull out shelves for minions to take notes.
Measurements are 59" long, 32" deep, 31" tall and legroom is about 24" underneath, with both shelves extended, length is 7' overall.
