A spectacular French oak hall armor chest or trunk was hand hewn around 1700. The finish is in very fine condition, preserving losses, mars and wear for antique character. The original lock is lost, a later lock from over a century ago has no key.
Wrought iron hinges appear original on this European furniture. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Panels are chamfered and hand planed.
Dimensions are 66" long, 26" deep and 31" tall.
