An elegant armoire was hand carved in France about 1900 and has a shaped and beveled mirror door.
The dramatic walnut shell motif crest is wonderful, sides are matched and banded. The original finish is very well preserved with only minor mars. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
There is a little antique "smoke" to the original mirror. Brass hardware is original, the door has a working double throw lock. Hand cut dovetail joints are visible on the paneled back.
The interior is oak and curly "birdseye" maple with adjustable shelves, depth is 13 1/2." The crown section is removable for easier delivery.
Measurements are 42" wide, 21" deep and 8' tall.
