A bronze sculpture of Shakespeare crowns this French marble mantel clock from about 1880. The maker's signature is worn on the porcelain dial, see photos.
Cleaned and oiled, the brass movement keeps accurate time, counting the hour on a silvery bell and striking the half hour. There is a tiny chip on the beveled glass door of this antique clock.
The statue has wonderful deep patina and fine detail, and we find no signature on this work of art. There are tiny flakes on the marble as shown.
Dimensions are 19" wide, 6 1/2" deep and 15" tall.
