Irish Pine 1850's Hand Made Corner Cabinet

Warm honey toned pine was used to make this exquisite country corner cabinet. It was made in Ireland about 1850, but the faceted and hand cut nails on the rough sawn back could indicate an even earlier date. A skilled carpenter used full mortise joinery in the construction of this simple yet very elegant piece of antique furniture. The interior is painted, and the bottom shelf of the upper section was cut, probably to make space for a tall piece stored inside. The arched interior is especially charming. There are numerous repairs and mars to add character to this very solid cabinet. Size is 4' wide, 20" deep, and 6'10" tall. N-C2729
