This magnificent tall case or grandfather clock has a stately mahogany and rosewood case. It dates from the 1820's, and is in great running condition. The 8 day movement strikes the hour and has hand engraved and pierced brass hands that appear original. Hand painted with a scene of a country house and swans swimming in a pond, the dial also looks original. Behind the dial is engraved "Osb(or?)ne's Manu(?)tory, Birmingham." See Photos
The winding crank, weights and pendulum are all hand made. The flame grain door and base panels are especially beautiful; the patina and warm richly toned finish are quite exceptional. All the wood is hand planed, and this is an outstanding authentic Georgian clock. Size is 21" wide, 10" deep and 7'6" tall. P-C2791 This item has sold.
