This truly magnificent triple armoire has bombe or convex curved design. Masterfully executed in rosewood, mahogany and satinwood marquetry, the cast bronze mounts are original. The shaped and beveled center door mirror is original, and has "smoke" in the silvering - it could be resilvered if desired, we would choose not to do so.
The gleaming original finish from about 1900 is in wonderful condition, there are only tiny mars at the edges, and minor chips and shrinkage cracks as would be expected with an antique of this age. Even the interior is finished with banding and inlay.
Three drawers in the bottom have solid oak hand dovetailed sides. The center section is empty, there is a closet pole in the right compartment, and the left has shelves, but this spectacular antique armoire could be configured as desired. The natural grain of exotic woods and the patina of the finish are really extraordinary.
This grand furniture piece disassembles for moving, and size is almost 8' wide, 21" deep and 8 1/2' tall. Q-A489 This item has sold.
