Stunning carving on this bookcase or china cabinet includes male nude figures and a leaded stained glass door. Made about 1920, this exceptionally well built cabinet has beautiful Renaissance design. The original finish on oak is in wonderful condition, in a warm medium brown color.
We see no damage to the stained glass door, and the three separate sections are finished in natural oak inside, with inlaid banding on the edges of the shelves. Below are three dovetailed drawers. The heavy brasses are also original. Most spectacular are the high relief carved doors, depicting a muscular male figure amidst a cornucopia of leaves and fruit. Size is 5'3" wide, 23" deep, and 5'3" tall. R-C2835 This item has sold.
