This French walnut bedroom set was crafted with great attention to detail. There is a bed adapted to queen size, marble top bedside stand, and a double armoire with beveled glass doors. The harmonious design and hand carved Louis XV crests are especially artistic on this antique furniture from about 1900.
The original finish is satiny in a warm brown tone that enhances the diamond matched walnut. Front and rear legs are carved, and every surface is gracefully shaped with elegant moldings. Drawers are all hand dovetailed.
The bed has modern steel rails fitting a standard modern queen mattress and spring as photographed. the original odd-size wooden rails are also included. The headboard is 5' tall, 59" wide and over 2" thick. Bed length is 7'5," and the footboard is 35" tall. There is a scuff on the headboard - see photos.
The night stand has a white marble top and interior, and is finished on all sides. Size is 15" wide and deep and 34" tall.
The armoire has 2 doors with shaped and beveled mirrors in superb condition, a "secret" drawer in the base, and adjustable shelves inside. The arched armoire disassembles for moving. Dimensions are almost 8'2" tall, 54" wide and 20" deep. U-B1971
