Ohio Empire 1840 Chest or Dresser, Flame Mahogany

    This historic American Empire Period chest of drawers or dresser dates from about 1840, and has gorgeous matched flame walnut and mahogany. There is a signature from Cincinatti, Ohio stenciled on the bottom of a drawer, see photo.

Entirely hand made furniture, the drawers are hand dovetailed and the paneled back is rough sawn and hand planed. The rich deep finish is in very good condition, and all large drawers open and close smoothly. There is an age shrinkage crack to the right side panel. Dimensions of this authentic antique is 44" wide, 24" deep and 47" tall. V-D1627 This item has sold.
